Simple & Dairy Free Homemade Frosting recipe, it doesn’t get any better!
Note: double the recipe below for thicker layers/larger cake.
Note: this makes a very stiff frosting that holds up great for piping. If you want a softer frosting add 1 tsp. at a time of dairy free milk(mixing in-between each)
1/2 cup salted dairy free butter softened (we use Earth Balance)
2 cups powdered sugar
1 TBSP vanilla
*optional: add 1/2 tsp of vanilla bean powder to add more vanilla flavor and the speckles seen in the photo.
*optional: food coloring if desired
Add butter to your mixer and keep your mixer on low speed while you add in 1/2 cup of powdered sugar at a time to your butter.
Once the last amount of powdered sugar is added, add in your vanilla and turn up your mixer and beat everything up very well.
Add in drops of food coloring if that’s what you choose, mix completely.
