Delicious Candy Apple Buttercream Frosting, need we say more?! This recipe was built to be made dairy free, but you can certainly use traditional butter.  It goes beautifully on a cake or as a crepe filling in our Candy Apple Desert Crepes.

Ingredients

1 cup room temperature dairy free butter(we used Violife)
1 cup powdered sugar
2 packets instant apple cider mix
2 TBS dairy free milk(optional, if needed)

Instructions

Add butter to a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment and beat for about 30 seconds to loosen
the butter up.

Add the sugar and apple cider mix. Attach splatter shield and cover the whole mixer loosely with a dish
towel.(This will keep powdered sugar from flying all over the kitchen)

In about 20 second increments slowly raise the mixing speed from low to high – mix for about 2 minutes total until smooth and fully mixed. IF you find that your buttercream is too stiff for your application add the milk a tablespoon at a time and repeat the mixing process.

Note: the dairy free butter can be much harder to create a smooth frosting with (especially if you add
the milk) just keep mixing and it will get there!
