Gluten Free Spiced Caramel Cran-Apple Scones

These are really yummy and different. Definitely not spicy but a nice subtle spiced flavor to it I really enjoy the flavor combo!

Ingredients

For Apples:
2 TBSP Butter
2 Apples pealed, cored, and chopped into small pieces
2 TBSP Hoss Soss Tamarind

For Scones:
2 cups Josie’s Best GF Muffin & More Mix
½ cup brown sugar
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ cup COLD butter
1 egg (lightly beaten)
½ cup milk
½ cup dried sweetened cranberries

Instructions

Sauté butter, apples, and Hoss Soss until apples are tender and starting to brown – about 15 mins. On
low heat. Let cool.

Pre Heat oven to 350 and line a baking sheet with parchment
Mix Muffin & More Mix, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Grate cold butter (with a cheese grater) into dry ingredients and toss to combine.

Add cooled apple mixture and cranberries and toss to combine.

Mix egg and milk and then add to dry ingredient mixture and mix until thoroughly distributed.

Spread the batter into a disk shape on the parchment lined cookie sheet about ½-3/4 inch thick.

Using a sharp knife cut the disk in half, then again, and again, making 8 slices. You just want to make the
marks at this point but leave the scones in the disk shape.

Bake for 20 mins until cooked through.

Allow to cool, slice on the pre-marked edges, Top with your favorite caramel sauce and enjoy!

**using a wet spatula and knife will keep the batter from sticking to the utensils and make things way
easier!
